Jubal is a folk group comprised of two individuals, Taylor Kress and Bonnie Simmons. These folks have grown up in and around Knoxville, and I believe this has affected their sound and lyrics in the music they produce. I am excited to see them perform at the upcoming Rhythm and Blooms music festival here in Knoxville as they will likely perform some of the songs on their second album that will be released this year. Both Taylor and Bonnie came from difference bands to form their duo, and through their music they show extremely great chemistry together.
Their debut album, Bloodroot, that was released in 2015 was recorded in a cabin in Clinton, TN and each song was recorded in one take. Their voices blend so well in the songs in the first album, and they make a unique sound together that I value. After researching this duo more, I look forward to following them throughout the year and the future success I am sure they will find soon.
