Life House Coffee: Press Pause on Life

Coffee has a way of building connections and bringing communities of people together, while breathing life to those people. Serving almost as a peace offering in life, having local coffee houses where communities can come together to enjoy food and drink delicacies is important to pausing the busy life we live and allowing us to bathe in the now, sip by sip.

Living in the scruffy little city of Knoxville, members of the community are privileged to be surrounded by a culture that supports coffeehouses. With well over 15 local coffee houses surrounding the area, it can be hard to choose where to indulge. However, one of my most recent experiences in a coffee house may solicit you to visit and never leave.

In the heart of the North Knoxville community, there is a coffee house that has only recently opened in September of 2016. Life House Coffee stemmed from an up and coming church; however, the atmosphere and employees do not over affiliate themselves with the religion that surrounds their shop. Instead, it is more of an uplifting environment that helps to jump start your day in a positive way.

This coffee shop has a lot to offer with the variety of items listed on their menu. They do not only offer coffee; their menu also includes tea, smoothies, hot chocolate, and soda pop. When I visited, I had their caramel iced coffee and it was not overly sweet. There was a nice balance between the coffee flavor and the added caramel flavoring. With 15 flavors, from toasted marshmallow to s'mores, it is hard not to find flavor of coffee you would not enjoy.

As for food, they offer a wide variety of menu items from build your own breakfast sandwiches, to oatmeal, fruit, lunch sandwiches, salad, and homemade soups. They even have a kids menu, which allows the whole community (older and younger) to enjoy their experience. I had the pleasure of trying one their breakfast sandwiches, which turned out to be a wonderful decision. The hot everything bagel stuffed with bacon, scrambled eggs, and Gouda cheese may become a Saturday tradition of mine.

The actual coffee house itself has a very relaxing feel. With a country chic appearance, dimmed lighting, and minimal noise, Life House offers a perfect venue to relax, have a chat with a friend, or do work. The coffee house offers free WiFi and multiple seating arrangements to make your time unique and efficient. For a student, the coffee shop is far enough from campus that it allows for a great get away, but close enough to not be considered a long haul. Trust me the drive is worth it.
All in all, Life House gets an A+ in my eyes. If you are looking for amazing treats and a perfect get away to allow yourself to press pause on your life and just enjoy the moment, this coffee shop is the way to go.
